PHRM 747 Point of Care Testing (BPE)

The course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to appropriately utilize point-of-care testing (POCT) in pharmacy practice for diagnostic, screening, or management of acute and chronic medical conditions. The course will build upon the NASPA Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Test & Treat National Certificate Training Course. The course will guide students through the process of establishing POCT in community pharmacy setting. Beginning with obtaining a CLIA waiver and selecting appropriate point-of-care testing to marketing services and conducting testing, the course will prepare students for an expanding patient care role in pharmacy practice.
