NUR 651 Mental Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning Across the Lifespan

Prerequisites: BIO 500, NUR 544 This course focuses on the assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders across the lifespan. Advanced assessment techniques include observation, interviewing, as well as the appropriate use of a variety of screening tools and assessment guides and diagnostic data. Students are introduced to current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) criteria. Clinical experiences provide students with opportunities to integrate content in the care of patients across the lifespan.
