EDU 645 Advanced Literacy Strategies II
The components of this course focus on the skills of fluency, vocabulary-building, and comprehending text. Strategies to teach students reading below grade level are emphasized. Discussion is targeted to facilitate competence in selecting complex texts, awareness of teaching styles and reading styles to meet needs of students in the P-12 setting, as well as the critical need for quality literacy instruction in our local, state, and national context. Students will be asked to reflect and describe the role of reading in helping to foster a path for life-long learning through a variety of texts and experiences.
