Independent Study (MAT 495) or Departmental Special Study (MAT 395) may be used for 3 of the 6 hours required.

Three 300-level or 400-level MAT courses must be taken under honors contract, as approved by the department, and must include MAT 411 or MAT 415. At least two courses must be completed prior to the semester in which the honors project is completed.

Attend at least 4 honors colloquia during each of the junior and senior years, as approved by the Director of the Honors Community.

Students will take one semester of MAT 498 for 2 hours and another semester of MAT 498 for 1 hour, for a total of 3 hours.
