BSOL 276 Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio 1
Portfolio submission is a method by which students may petition to earn academic credit for experiential learning completed outside a traditional classroom setting. This course guides students through the process of developing a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) portfolio tailored to align with a designated undergraduate course offered at an institutionally accredited college or university. Success in this course is dependent upon the student's ability to showcase mastery of all learning outcomes for the designated course through their portfolio.
Students must work closely with their Academic Advisor to ensure that the portfolio course credit will apply toward their degree plan as needed. Credit from a PLA portfolio will count as a general elective credit. A portfolio may not be prepared to duplicate previous or future coursework required for a major. This PLA portfolio course builds upon knowledge gained from BSOL 275 (Prior Learning Assessment Theory and Practice), and enrollment is limited to students in the BSOL and BSCL degree programs.
