MABT 601 Studies in Biblical Theology
Clarifies the discipline and task of Christ-centered biblical theology and its relationship to exegesis, life, and ministry and traces major biblical themes as they unfold from Genesis to Revelation. This course analyzes the history of redemption by doing biblical theology and integrating it with four other theological disciplines:
1. Exegesis carefully interprets the OT and NT by analyzing what the authors intended to communicate.
2. Biblical theology studies how the whole Bible progresses, integrates, and climaxes in Christ.
3. Historical theology surveys and evaluates how significant exegetes and theologians have understood the Bible and theology.
4. Systematic theology builds upon the previous three disciplines to correlate what the Scriptures teach.
5. Practical theology applies the other four disciplines to yourself, the church, and the world.
